QR09 PLANTA ENTRESUELO (MEZZANINE FLOOR)

The mezzanine can be accessed from two sides, the first from the entry hall by means of a stairway located on the right side which leads to the Sala La Torre (The Tower Room) and annex rooms and the other access from the cloister on the left, by means of the main stairway which leads to the Sala Cremona (Cremona Room).

In the access to the Tower Room, we highlight the wall which features the impressive graffiti artwork which represent naval ships from the late 16th century made with “pintura de almagra” (red ochre paint).

One major recovery was the main stairway in its original site, attached to the cloister, as stipulated by the Renaissance canons; the illegal stairway was removed which had been built in the building’s main access in the mid-20th century which limited the functionality of the adjacent rooms, interrupting the direct passage from the cloister.
